Festival of Lifesaving 2019
21st to 23rd November 2019, Leeds, UK
The RLSS Commonwealth Festival of Lifesaving will be held from 21st to 23rd November 2019 in Leeds and this will be the second Festival in the new format.
The festival aims to encourage participation in lifesaving sport and further development of lifesaving practices, as well as bring the lifesaving family together. In addition to the Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships, the 2019 event will also include an individual skill element and non-competitive sports section.
Leeds is a city in the northern English county of Yorkshire. The venue for the Festival, the John Charles Centre for Sport is a sports facility in the south of the city. The Aquatics Centre at John Charles Centre for Sport, is a relatively new facility opened 2007. The facilities are an indoor 50m Pool, with 10 lanes (10 x 2.5m)and moveable floor (allowing a 2m uniform depth) and is next to a 17m x 15.5m pool (suitable for warm up and cool down).
The proposed schedule has the festival running over three days and is as follows:

Entries for the Commonwealth Festival of Lifesaving are now officially open!
Entries are now open at https://www.rlss.org.uk/commonwealth-festival-of-lifesaving-registration via a new entry system. An early bird rate will apply until 1st August 2019.
RLSS UK, hosts for the 2019 Commonwealth Festival of Lifesaving have launched a webpage for the event.
Festival of Lifesaving 2017
The Royal Life Saving Society – Commonwealth Drowning Prevention held the all new Commonwealth Festival Of Lifesaving from 10th to 13th August 2017 at the King’s Park Swimming Complex, Durban, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.
The new-look festival aimed to encourage participation and lifesaving development, and to bring the lifesaving family together. An individual skill element and a non-competitive sports development section were introduced, in addition to the more tradition Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships.
